New & Emerging R/C Helicopters > My take on the Stinger from Ghobee

Short summary is to buy the Raptor instead.

I bought the Stinger 30 and converted it to a 50 using Raptor parts. The quality of the Stinger is subpar. Even though it has all those metal parts, the metal are extremely soft and I noticed that it has more flex than the TT plastics in some places. The fit and finish is not the best. The swashplate is too thick and will hit the mainmast collar if pushed all the way down. I do not like how they did the clutch and start shaft. The fuel tank is paper thin, I have a leak already. There is also more slop in the washout than the Raptor. Also the pins holding the washout link is not held in tight at all. I was lucky enough to notice it and put some CA to keep it in place.

It flies fine and feels a little more stable than a Raptor.

The support is nice, I had 2 bad bearings and ghobee was prompt in replacing it. I will be contacting them regarding the leaking fuel tank. 3 flights and it is leaking.

Hi Aziego
I bought the equiv to the stinger in the UK, the Stilletto, Well! what can I say.
They are a shed, to be quite honest they should stop companies selling crap like this ,because the quality of the heli is discusting.

The only thing good about it is the underslung flybar set-up and then the metal is sub-par, the washout arms flex sideways, the swash is good for the bin, I sprayed the canopy with cellulose primer and it melted and slid off my bench like the blob in the film, the Stilletto canopy is made from a similar material as the Raptor but it is so thin ,when you try to put it on the heli it just bends all over the place. The ends of the boom supports just pull out, the belt pulley wheels are space with cut bits of frame spacer,The maingear was so bad a match for the pinion it would'nt even turn, and when it did, it was so noisy and just kept jamming up. The clutch itself is so weak you can press the shoes in with your fingers and the start shaft looked as if it had been hamered into the clutch and just ground down with a grinder to make it fit the bearings.
When I tried to fit the metal pitch arm, the bearings just fell through to the other side.
I cant believe any company would let these out to the public.
I feel as if I have been robbed of my money
For God sake if any one wants a cheap heli,go buy a second hand Raptor DO NOT get one of these you will be very disapointed

Take my word for it
