I have just purchased an ergo 60 kit. This weekend I won a discount for any YS engine. I was thinking of installing a YS80 but I'm not sure of the what upgrades are needed for this. Or should I just stick with a YS60. I was thinking of the 80 because this is little heavyer 60 heli.

The 60 should fly it just fine without any mods I would think. I have a Webra .61 P5 in mine and it has plenty of power.

Engine for Ergo 60

I personally like my YS 61-ST2.....Its a consistant running engine that won't leave you constantly playing with your needle settings. Excellent power and torque and runs real clean on Cool Power 30%

I'm kinda surprised that I didn't get more comments than this. I have decided to go with the YS80. I know it seems to be a bit much, but with experience with my Ergo 30 it could realy use a 50 in it.

I'm not sure if the ergo's gearing is the same as the Vigor but you will need to get a different gear ratio for the 80. Somewhere in the range of 8.4 to one not the 9.3 (or what ever) that the 61 uses. Sometimes this needs different engine mounts to get the allignment of pinion and main gears correct. I have seen the Vigor with the YS 80.

YS-80

You wil have to change then main gear ratio and pinion. I belive it is 8-4. The YS 80 takes some getting used to. Although more power the rpm SOUNDS a lot lower when it really isn't. I own an Ergo 60 sport and think the YS 60 has more than enough power to thump all over the sky with it. (Running my 80 is my Vigor CS)

YS80

According to Heliproz and Horizon Hobby the pinoin gear is all that I need to change on the ergo 60 sport. The main gear on the Vigor is changed to the same gear as the stock ergo 60. If I read the quarterly summer 2002 issue from Horizon Hobby correctly. I could be wrong.I appreciate all input that I'm getting. I may just stick with something that works as everyone has said.
