My first heli scale project is this Hirobo Panther. It got its 1st flight today. The paint scheme is a French marine. The Bell sitting next to it is a Scalehouse Bell 212 fuselage with an Xcell 60 mechanic and my friend Morris is the proud owner of this USA Marines UH-1N. We both are very pleased about the performance of these 2 beautiful birds. What do you think?
We would like to ask you to take a minute to vote which one is better! Enjoy and Thank you!

Bell has the majority

It looks to me that so far more people vote for the UH-1N more than my Panther. (So sad!!!! :-( :-( :-) )
I do so too and probably will build one if I have the chance. I don't know how the Bell from Vario looks like but the Scalehouse Bell kit is very nice with great details, especially the panel lines and rivets are superb. It is but not very popular though, require more work on the finish and the price is a little higher than the Vario.
Any of you have the Vario Bell to share?
Thank you for reading this post and sharing your thoughts with us.

both are nice, my vote is the panther but only in azure blue camo , which is what mine will look like , same scheme as in the uh-1n , as i'm a navy guy , I like sea colors . - must admit they are both done very equally nice ..

Panther in azure blue camo scheme!

Ed,
You are right that the US navy color for the Panther would be nicer. That was my original choice too but since my friend Morris got that scheme on his UH-1 already I decided to go to different one. Beside that, the Panther's scheme was based on a picture of the real scale that I got from www.helispot.com.
The Panther was not very popular and it was hard for me to find any in the Web. If you know any website or any picture of the Panther, would you share with us?

Regarding the building, building the Panther was a breeze to compare with the UH-1. I finished the Panther's mechanic in 3 days including setting up the CCPM. Its tail drive was composed of 2 pieces of torque tube in stainless steel. I tested fly the Panther with its supplied wood semi-symetrical blades (660mm long) and the heli was solid and no vibration what so ever. I am thinking of replacing with a set of carbon 880 mm blades.

On the other side, Morris had to modify the wood platform for the Xcell mechanic on his Scalehouse bell because he did not like the one that comes with the the kit. He used a flexible cable set up for the tail eventhough he got a 40degree gear box available because it was easier to install. His heli flies very good but if you pay close attention, you will notice a slight viber on the tail which of course came from the tail flexible cable. He said that next time if he has ever built another kit with an angled tail, he definitely uses a gear box and torque tube instead.

Hi Tuan,

Your heli is so nice. Especially in flight! That tail piece was awesome!
On the ground the UH-1N looked better somehow. It seemed more proportinal and realistic. I have to vote for UH-1N in that regards. Tell Morris to get that stupid orange stuff-doll pilot out.

See you guys this Saturday?

WOW ! WHAT DO WE HAVE UP HERE?
IT IS A REAL THING ?
BOTH LOOK VERY NICE , BUT I LIKE THE UH 1N MORE THAN THE PANTHER BECAUSE I GAVE HIM SOME IDEAL TO BUILD IT, SO I CHOSE THE BELL UH 1N ,
