Does someone knows where i can get a manual online for the fury ION, i just placed my order and want to get ahead of it.

I know some people are having trouble with this KIT, can someone outline what should i take care during assembly to prevent problems? This is my first Miniature Aircraft Model, i used to have a raptor, and would like some pointers for this.

Thanks

The manual leaves a lot to be desired, but.....

First off, it only comes on CD-ROM. You're gonna have to print it up if you don't happen to have a computer on your building table. Also, the drawings aren't particularly clear and can be a little difficult to see at times, but are overall adequate (have a look at the Mikado Logo 20 instruction manual and you'll see what clear drawings look like!). The thing that bothered me the most about the manual is that you absolutely positively cannot build the heli without reading the text instructions. That part is fine with me, but since the instructions are in a separate file (and thus a separate printout), moving back and forth between the picture paciket and the text packet can be exasperating. If I could build this heli again for the first time, I'd go through the instruction manual thoroughly and write the salient instructions on the drawing packet.....such as where to apply loctite, etc.

I don't know how MA sees its instruction manuals in terms of copyrights, so I won't e-mail you the files unless someone from MA says its ok to do so.

Other than the manual, though, the kit is just fantastic. It's my first MA heli and is by far nicer than anything else I've previously and currently own. I'm 99% done with it and the thing is impressive to look at. All things considered, the instruction manual on this kit is but a mere imperfection!

Just a follow up...

I finished my KIT, its a great thing to build... THEY NEED BETTER INSTRUCTIONS i agree the text is well written very bad ilustrations and i hated the printing and going back and forth from pictures to text.... Everything else WOWS me, it was a pleasure assembling this baby...

I am having a rough time adjusting the meshings, but i will get there, specially since there is no one to ask what it should sound like or have them take a look, i live in Mexico, so there are no IONS here...

I flown it for 4 times now and its now my favorite Heli.. The only down side that it looks expensive to fix from a crash.. So even though i know the rule, i WILL NOT CRASH THIS ONE

Another thing is that i hate the transmission too much gears don't you think??? I guess they could do better and leave some space for adjustments...

The heli is beautifull and i can't wait to see Version 2!

Actually, all the extra gears are there for..........

....adjustability. According to MA, the secondary gear drive allows you to 1. use different motors with different RPMs and keep the same size main gear, 2. use the same motor and different size main gear, 3. use different motors and different size main gears. That's a lot of adjustability.

The ONLY downside I see to this adjustability is the absence of a third bearing block underneath the main gear, which are standard on most helis. And since the Ion-X is basically a 3-D electric heli, allowing people all this adjustability shouldn't be necessary, especially when it causes you to trade off rigidity and sturdiness for it.

Of course, I am the first and only person to cite this "fault" with the Ion, and would bet my left arm that I will not notice the absence of the third bearing block when I get mine up in the air. In a crash? Maybe I'll notice it! Lets hope it doesn't reach that point!
