I flew one at the weekend. Very nice little heli for the price. Very smooth.

MUCH BETTER THAN A NEXUS.

Anyone know if the Caliber is made in China? I have a 13 year old Concept 30 DX that was made in Japan or Taiwan...I forget which...but when I get parts now that are made in China I can put the original next to the new and see a difference. When Kyosho went to China the quality went down the toilet. If the Caliber is made the way the original Concept was made, I may get one also.

I should have my caliber 30 tommorow or friday. It will be a little while before I get to fly It, but from what I have heard they are great helicopters. I will be comparing it to my nexus 30.

I think it beats the Nexus by far!
And if Im not completely wrong its made in Japan.

I really recommend this piece of beauty (except for the canopy mount)

PHIflyer,

The original Concept 30s, from the DX through the SR, were made in Japan. The SR-T and SR-X were the first ones produced in China, and you're right; the difference in quality is quite noticeable. That is one of the reasons I abandoned Kyosho back in the early 90s.

It would appear that, with the Caliber 30, they have finally got their act together again. From all I have read it sounds like a very nice plastic 30. A fellow not far from here has one, and I'm looking forward to seeing it. I was thinking about getting one, but this unanticipated 9Z acquisition will put the quietus on any new models for a long time.

Oh well. But I'm having fun getting to know the Concept again. Apparently, there are quite a few of us still flying this old bird.

Yeah, yeah, I know. You and Alan both tried to tell me, years ago. So I'm a bit slow on the uptake, ok?

But it's all better now; or will be soon...

I recieved my caliber 30 from cyberheli today (not bad only four days to from it being shipped). I am very impressed with it, it is going to be awhile before I have it flight ready but it looks to me to be a good machine.

The caliber is great

It blows the nexus away. How many other 30's come stock with a constant drive tail? This chopper is supper smooth and three times more quiet than it's predisesor the nexus. The option to set it up mechanical or electronic mixing is great, however go elecronic. as I understand that there is a slight amount of plan in the sliding servo plate used in the mec. version. This chopper couldn't be nicer unless it came with hex head bolts instead of the cross heads. Just my two cents. Over four gallons no problems at all.
