I am seriously thinking of getting into scale's. I have been looking around the internet to get information and have come up with this combination. Is this the right direction to go?

V-East has a summer special with the following.

Combo #10 - Bell 230 w/UNI-2000 mechanics and skid gear.
Combo #11 - OS .61 w/exhaust

Is this a good start? Should I use a different mechanics or motor?
What else will I need?

Assuming you're an experienced heli pilot, it's a reasonable choice. It all depends on "how" scale you want to go ie operating doors , detailed cockpit which are not offered, but the exteriors are nice. The OS 61 RXHWC makes plenty of power. I myself have the same with retracts, FRP fins and Curetek lighting system.
