Min Air....

MinAir is the distributor for them in the US. However you need to call them on pricing and availability. I find that to be kind of a pain in the rump so I buy mine from Chris. I think his prices are better....

What did you pay for them...

I have been trying to get a price for them. I admit I haven't had time to call due to the time difference and such....

Part of the problem

Al,
If you go onto Minatures web site and into the newsletter one or more issues back you will find a blurb about them along with the part numbers.
That is the reason I have been buying mine from Chris.
Now I talked to Todd Bennett in LA about these and he said to call MinAir and ask them.
Give Sluggo a shout here and he can set you up.

Does anyone else notice that DIMITRY/LAHELLY never answers a question, unless he's selling something?

Chris,

MAH 3699-39 would be the 710's that are black with white tips and roots. Just like the ones that Jason and most of the other guys where using at the Mid-america fun fly a few weeks ago.

710's

Todd and Jason at the LA Hirobo cup said those blades were not available yet. They were still in the testing stage. I do believe they have a set of 710's on the market, but the ones that Todd and Jason were flying Todd had speced specially for them to test on the Furys.
Maybe he can elaborate better. Something about the CG and the airfoil towards the tip being different. I can't recall exactly what he said was changed.

Miniature has some blades in stock for sale. I've just received a set today. You need to be very careful what you ask for. Go to the catalog on the website, and you will see two different blades with the same numbers. DIMITRY/LAHELY said he got a set for $120 from Miniature. I don't think so. DIMITRY/LAHELY said they have planty, or is that plenty in stock. NOT SO. I asked DIMITRY/LAHELY what number blade he received for $120. No answer. There is a 685 blade listed. You don't want these. The one to buy is the double tapered 690 symetrical blade. I know DIMITRY/LAHELY has something to do with these blades coming into the US. You would think he could be more helpful!

Call ZOOMS..

Just got a PM back from Scott at Zooms about them. He has MAH 680's in stock give him a shout the price was pretty reasonable I think as compared to what Sluggo used to sell them to me for.

Al,
i have MAH-685s and can not tell you they are not much better than the Rotorsports. they are very thick 10mm all the way to the tip. it is not good for an engine to turn those - they create too much drag. i am sure dbl tapered are significantly better. although i can not complain about how stiff they are. and they are VERY stiff.

i wish i could've waited and ordered 690s dbl tapered...

Too much drag?

I disagree on that one. I have the 685 FAI's on my Freya with the OS 61 and if anythiing they reduced the drag sigificantly over the stock woodies. I had to turn the throttle curve down a bit to slow the head speed (that was also going from 660 to 685). I also find that they will not loose headspeed even with a hovering auto.
The double tapered blade (new style that Todd is testing I remember him mentioning that now) will give a much better cyclic rate and resposiveness to extreme aerobatics, but I don't think it is really being done because the original blades cause too much drag.

Ok guys, here is the latest in the saga of the MAH blade search. I received my blades Thursday, and didn't look at them 'till today. First off, when I found out Miniature had them I called and talked to Belinda. She checked stock and said yes we have them. My LHS is a Miniature dealer, so, I asked him to order them on Tuesday, second day air. Tuesday night I'm looking at the Miniature catalog, and I see two different blades with the same number. I e-mail Belinda, tell her what I've discovered, and she confirms that the correct set of blades are being sent. The correct blade by the way is the 690, double tapered, white blade, black tips, symetrical. The 685 semi is not a 3D blade, and I'm not interested. The blade I get: 685, semi black. Miniature has none and does not know when or if they will have any. DIMITRY said plenty. NOT SO! I call ZOOM's. They know less about the MAH blade than I do. He has only the 685's. He has to get everything from Todd through Miniature. Not what I call hooked-up. I asked Chris/Sluggo about them. He said he is no longer selling them because of the time it requires. I can understand that. I asked Chris who the Canadian distributor was. He has not answered. BIG SECRET. I'm working on the Canadian distributor now, and will let you know. Miniature Aircraft has always been a waste of time, and I can see nothing has changed in twenty years. As of right now, the MAH blade is a dead issue.

Al,
We have ALL of the MAH blades on the shelf! We received 20+ sets of them this week.
Let me know if you are still interested.
There have been a number of changes with the MAH's and its hard to keep up with all of the developments. Also as a side note. We get our MA inventory from both TB and directly from MA. TB is a friend of mine, and as he is the west coast distributor for MA, I would much rather have him get our business as both MA and TB benifit from this. Incedently, TB had quite a bit to do with the current design of the MAH blades, and there is good reason why we consult with him as far as the different blades that MAH offers, especially considering these are a new design, and MA's part numbering scheme is a bit difficult to make heads or tails of with regards to what P/N is which blade.
Sorry about any confusion. If you still need them, we can still ship them today. Its now 3:36PM PST. Call and ask for me and we will square you away.
Sorry about any confusion.

Best Regards,
Scott Leif
