I am the pilot for the Simon Fraser University Arial Robotics Group.
We have developed an autopilot system that automatically flies a
60 size heli via GPS waypoints. We will post pictures and video soon. Any one out with similar experiences.

I had an low-tec autonomous heli once, my reciever aerial came loose, the experiment came to a messy and premature end though.

AUTONOMOUS HELI

In my country, many helis fly over farm land, and spray chemicals ( bug killers ). They are simply RC helis, but have a capability to fly straight, move a bit sideway, and fly straight back. They have GPS inside.
I also saw a RC heli fly by itself according to preset route over an active volcano using GPS some years ago on local TV.
