| It's starting to look a lot like a helicopter! As always....there are questions.......
1. Regarding the tail assembly: the instructions don't call for red Loctite on the outside of the two bearings of the input shaft as they do for the two bearings on the output shaft. (Presumably, red Loctite is used to ensure that the outer races of the bearings are held in place and thus don't spin inside the gearbox as the outer shaft rotates during operation.) I was wondering if doing the same for the bearings on the input shaft would be beneficial......or if there was a specific reason not to do so.
2. When installing the tail boom mount between the side frames, I noticed that the fit is very tight--it literally spreads apart the side frames, noticeably. When installing the boom into the boom mount, it spreads apart the side frames even further. Is this expected? Can I sand the outsides of the boom mount so that they don't flex the frame halves so much? |
