| Hey, Helimike
I forgot to mention that because of the ridiculous canopy I can't fit any of my current Gyros, so I'm waiting to get a new one that fits prior to flying. I live (by UK standards) out in the sticks, so it will take some time for me to sort out.
The Caliber kit is very good (canopy apart) and seems very high quality with a decent number of ball-bearings, and everything works smoothly with the supplied links. The Drive arrangement is neat, and the engine mount/clutch/starter arrangement very clever and easy to set-up. See the "Is anyone flying the Cal30" thread for flying notes.....
The Sceadu 50 is good quality, but less innovative, it flies really well, after various minor glitches are sorted (pitch-servo mounting, 3rd bearing block, Gears?) The USA kit is excellent value, as it contains some upgrades and dispenses with the Fibre-glass baldes which are too short and (on mine at least) give a frighteningly fast head-speed.
My personal jury is still out, but if the Caliber flies as well as the Sceadu it will get my vote. |
