Did you pay for that paint job? the Stripe on top not centered....

Yep,, $100.00,, and your right about the strip not being in the middle, and it's not matched up with the bottom one,, The wife says it looks like our 8 year old grand daughter did the stripping, I know what he wad trying to do, but I think it sucks,, She told me to tell him, that I wasn't happy and repaint it, but I hate confutations, and mostly I'm not a A-hole, so I just took it, He did tell me to bring it back after he got some more pinstripe material, and he would redo that part,, I think I will!!!! Ok, that stripe is definitely out of center so thats enough to complain but like you, I would have probably picked it up and just use it as a beater canopy. I would make sure though to erase his number from my phone and never return back.

About the paintjob itself... from what I can tell, he used good quality paint and clear so at least he appears to know what he is doing even though, it clearly shows he isn't an "Artist" in the true sense of the word. I believe that the choice of colours and paint scheme was yours and not his but if I were to show that color scheme to my painter he would refuse to do it.

When I was picking out a color scheme for my vibe 50, I ended up "suggesting" 8 different ones because my painter kept telling me: "too easy", "too boring", "oh my God, are you crazy? What color combo is that?", "I wouldn't even paint my fridge like that", etc etc before we found something we both agreed on.

Try to ask Dave Yost to paint you a canopy like that and he will probably refuse.

Trust me on that one! Dave is the kind of guy that if he doesn't think it looks good, he will scrap it himself. No need to wait for the customer to tell him that they don't like it!

If that were my paint job, I would ask him to just re-shoot it in one color and be done with it. The painter obviously has NO artistic tallent.

That makes everything worse. A guy that paints helmets as a living is able to mix orange with green and sleep well at night?

Here's my advice... you live in the States. You have TONS of good painters out there (I only have 3 available) and you have Bill from Arizona Heli. Look at his page. Most of his prices include the canopy so if you think about it... the helmet color blind guy charged you more than Bill does for 80% of his paintjobs and I can personally vouch for the superb quality of his paintjobs and clear coats. Every single canopy I got from him (even though they ended up costing $300 a piece because customs and VAT of my country) survived and were sold with the helis. I'm 99% sure they're still with the new owners right now. Bill makes canopies that last forever (well... unless you rail it in at 150mph)

xcellgasman101, ignore my "buckeye leaf" canopy and check out my gallery. If you want something painted for a reasonable price, my buddy might be able to help you out. They aren't perfect, but they are pretty nice for a pretty good price. Just send me a PM if you want me to help

Bright canopies are for people that fly too high This is my latest paint job.

I went for something easy so I don't cry when I lose sight of it and smash it
