| Im afraid its not that easy or simple. Especially if the eng is already installed, its much easier to tune a heli eng on a test stand thats how I do all mine a through run in will assure easy starts , good idle, and you could trust mid and hi to be close without leaning out. If you would rather try it while in the heli then you should set the needles to the factory specs. and also get the hover pitch to +6 at mid @ 50% throttle. Then after the eng is running let it idle a while even a full tank then hover it on the next tank if it wont hover at +6 then its too rich probably especially if it has lots of smoke, the nitro content has a LOT to do with needle settings more nitro richer settings etc...your best bet IMO is get someone to setup and tune it for you but watch and learn from him.One other thing you dont want to try to run a TT36 too rich too long either as its a ABC eng and must get hot to expand if run too rich too long eng failure can occour, others can vouch for this, ringed engines can be tuned richer without probs of this type. |
