| Ok, this is definately getting way off topic but since you guys are into cars, I guess it's OK!
Nishan,
I have driven my buddy's NSX numerous times. It is a fun car with certain amount of "exotic" appeal. It is a real handful to drive on the track and even on the street at an agressive pace. It spins like a "top" and usually there is no recovery once the rear starts to come around. It is pretty quick but not fast. European gearbox swap makes it alot more USA friendly. No one needs a second gear that stretches to 80mph in USA the way the stock gearbox is!
Carps,
Porsche also has certain appeal and a cult following. For a long while it was a serious sports car with a serious price. In terms of absolute performance, it too was a handful that only certain few have been able to truly master. Most Porsche owners either sat around telling "weekend warrior" type of BS stories to each other or were too busy having their Porsches towed out of the ditch when they tried driving it at a "sports car pace". That 65/35 rear weight bias does not tolerate fools!
Maxx,
I have the '01 Z06 in speedway white.
For those who don't consider the Vette in the same league as the other "exotica", consider this:
2002 Z06
405HP
0-60 in 4.0sec flat
1.0g on the skidpad with stock tires
Adjustable suspension.
The car is track ready out of the showroom floor.
Grand total $50,000. Can the other "exotica" compare?
For those who say "it doesn't have the appeal", I say that BS gets old.
I have owned many sports cars in my life. I have driven just about every "sports car" except a Lamborghini. Give me the "real" performance and let me keep the difference in my wallet.
My two favorites are the Z06 and the car before that which was an M3. |
