This ain't no $1000 machine. I think at 650-750,
it's fairly priced. If they think they are going to
go back and sell this thing for $1000 compared
to what is on the market now, they're nutz.

wait till you fly it , wait till you se how little maintence you will need to do to the SE for 650 $$$ there is nothing on the market that comes close to the quality of a Futura SE..........

It is a very beautiful machine, however, it's not worth a cool grand. It's definetely better than a Vigor @ $750. And at $650, it's a killer deal.

Most people are not willing to pay $1000 for a heli anymore. It's not necessary because there are so many good choices under $700. The X-cell 99 SE is an awesome heli, but I'd bet there aren't too many sold these days.

The Fury at $675 is solid competition. I chose the SE however. Hopefully I made the right choice.

Don't worry Flatspin, you made the right choice! The SE was a good deal (for what you get) at $750.00 last year, at $650.00 it's a tremendous value! Repair parts are about the same $$$ for the same crash damage as the Furry and the SE has the best control system going... Let everyone know how you like it when it's flyin' Chris

I think the Fury and the Futura are aimed at different markets. The Fury is the ultimate 3D ship on the market, and the Futura is best of the "grand touring machines". Yes, they will do 3D all day long, but the Fury is the king. I'd say the Futura is like a Hirobo Eagle but more 3D capable.

"grand touring" My ass, with the ys 80 it is a Kick ass 3d machine, unlimited in its performance , so smoooooooooooth as glass, BEST simplest control system going!!!!and she just keeps on ticking...

wake up and smell the nitro!! I think you got a fur-be on the brain...

I've owned a Futura SE and it is an awesome heli. I'd own another but I don't like the repair cost. As for 3D, the Futura is to a Porsche 928 what the Fury is to a Porsche 911.

Zxyxx, I don't see where you get the " I don't like the repair cost" thing. I detailed a sample crash in this forum not too long ago and to replace the same parts from a fairly bad crash ( main shaft, spindle, boom, T/R drive tube, crown gear, T/R output shaft) the difference was less than $10.00!!! This was using pricing from Rick's site only...all stock factory parts etc.! BTW, if I used the Bergen Hollow shaft for the Futura the price came within $1.00 of each other! The Fury is a great heli but if the Fury is compared to a 911 then the Futura SE must be a Corvette...does everything as well as the Porsche but stays outta the shop! Chris (Certified Corvette and Futura SE NUT).

Flatspin, what you got??? I've got a Red/Red '90 convertible and a Red/Black '94 with a few mods...I went down to Corpus Christi FF-a few years ago with a Milli, Shuttle, flight box, cooler, cloths and wife in the '94...you should have seen the looks we got when we pulled in and started unloading! Maxx: It's the other parts that get you. The canopy is $15 bucks more and it's plastic. The boom is around the same price but it's aluminum instead of carbon. The radio tray is $52. The tail output shaft is $20. The crown gear is $32

I want another Futura SE, and I might get one soon. But it's not cheap to repair.

How can you people even begin to compare a Corvette to a Porsche 911 ?

One is a classic high performance sports car with an unbelieveable pedigree in many motorsport classes - the other is a Corvette
