I don't see in the manual the blade root for the Ion X. I measured and am getting a reading of about 13 so it must be a 12mm or 14mm root. I need to order main blades tomorrow. Can anybody help me?

14mm root - same as Extreme. You can also use 12mm with 1mm spacers on each side - part #0840-36.

I have an ION and it is 5mm mounting hole. 4mm don't work. Trust me.

I also have 14/5 holes on my Ion-X setup. Going to have to drill my Extreme grips out to match.

Damn - sorry guys, I stand corrected - when my Ion was built an already assembled Extreme head was used to reduce build time - the one that shipped with the Ion was still in the bag - checked just now and they do have a 5mm bolt hole.

Does anyone know if you can get a sleeve to reduce the blade grip hole to a 4mm hole. I have many sets of main blades to use on the Ion X but all have 4mm holes.

You can get a sleeve to make a 5mm blade fit 4mm grips, but I've never seen inserts that let you put a 4mm bolt into a 5mm grip.

I'd just drill them out, but that's just me.
