| As car servos, you expect to see some dust sealing, which should not make
any difference.
However, centering on car servos may not be as good, compared to aircraft servos.
The 9252 is about the same price, and is specifically intended for cyclic use.
The 9450 has metal gears, which are not needed in the cyclic application. In fact, metal gears must be made with more backlash than nylon gears, so are possibly worse than nylon for cyclic use. If nothing else, the difference in gear set prices ($8 vs. $50) should help convince you.
Generally, when I've stipped a metal gear servo, it's been one of the plastic gears anyway. Sometimes you can buy just the plastic gear, or a gear set with the required gear in it, sometimes not.
You've no doubt seen the thread about Servo specs - the 9450 is a car servo, so may well be rated at 6.0 V. If so, then the 9252 will match it when operated at the same voltage. |
