Hi,
I have bought my first heli, the Nexus 30 in kit form and an OS.32SXH
engine.
I have almost assembled it but I am having difficulties on setting up the
main rotor blades.

The servo arms are positioning the shown angles in their neutral position.
The blades are balanced and the rod lengths are as specified in the manual.
(By the way, I think the part explaining the rod lengths on the manual is
wrong. It says that the scale is 1:1 on the picture, but the rod lengths in
the picture do not match the milimeter values written by their side!)

1) One problem is that, the main rotor blade holders (and of course the
blades) do not move the same angle in response to a pitch command.
When I disconnect the servo arm and I push the rod with hand, it seems that
the servo should travel way more to do that action right. I checked that the
ATV is %100 on that channel. Is this a normal behavior? Any ideas on with I
might be doing wrong.??

2) One other thing is that, the manual say that the tail boom should insert
in the mainframe about 60mm, but I could not push it that much. There are
still 3-4mm left to go, but It doesnt anymore. The tail rotor functions ok.
What about this?

3) I got a CSM 180 gyro. Where to place it, in the front space? It should
function best near to the CG which will be the axis of rotation, is that
right?

4) How do you tap the fuel tank on the bottom after filling/emptying?
Special tap for this?

Thanks,
Alper

1) Check to make sure everything is 90 degrees from the server arm/pushrods all the way up. This will gaurantee that the throw is the same. Second if you need more throw from the servo to get the pitch you need, consider longer servo arms, only mess with the ATV's for fine adjustment. Third, remember that you dont have to move the blades as far as you think! you only need +9 degrees positive and -4 negative (I think that is a starter setup, dont remember)

2) The rod that turns the tail rotor will only go into the socket so far, if that is all the way in then you are fine. I dotn remember if the nexus has the gap on the boom to show you when it is in all the way, I would say to just make sure that the drive shaft is in all the way. Make sure you have loosened the frame too to get it in.

3) If I remember correctly, there is a nice little compartment just under where the boom comes into the body. This is a nice place to put a gyro.

4) I dont understand the question. You shouldnt tap the fuel tank at all.

what i meant was, in response to a pitch command, one blade makes a greater pitch angle than the other.
Dont they supposed to move the same amount of angle?

And for the fuel tank, it has 3 ports.
- on top, 1 to the engine and 1 to the muffler.
- and on the bottom, there's another port for which I thought was for filling up/emptying the tank. which I think needs tapping

Thanks.

"one blade makes a greater pitch angle than the other"
is your swashplate level when your testing that ? Are both rods the exact same length?

Using that is a matter of preference, your right though that is one of the uses Screw a wood screw threw it to open it fully!!
