I think that anything you gain with a 3-chip wireless would be lost going through the downlink.

I would lean towards getting a 3-chip DV camera mounted on the heli and just use the downlink for framing the shots.

I agree,

Most gains by using the cost of a 3CCD system will probably be lost in the composite video downlink.

Of course, if you're talking about using a 3CCD camera with it's own tape recording on board, then all the quality will be right there on the tape.

3 CCD systems will give better results, even on downlink, but you'll lose most of the resolution in the composite downlink.
