Just finished my Ion and am using the Deans Mini antenna for the first time . Instructions say to leave 4 to 10 inches then solder to antenna lead. I have done a range check and with trans.antenna down goes farther than i can see movement, at least 200 plus ft. I am still nervous on trying forward flight with this antenna set up.
What are all you Ion pilots using for antenna and routing of the antenna? anyone using a Deans? . have you had any glitches or all smooth. Let me know, I want to fly.

There are Dean and Mini deans (you use in the Hornet or Humming bird.)
If you have the mini as you mention. I do not advise to fly with it. If you have the regular dean. That is ok. I used in my Joker and I did have any problems.
Good luck.
