I wasn't expecting to find a heli-cam mount 4 miles from my house, but I won't complain. For anyone looking for a mount, Jody's a great guy and you can't go wrong with him. He's very meticulous and proud of his work as he should be. I'm linking a couple pics of the mount I bought today, the ergo 30 is just for show..... The predator gasser will be here someday, by then I'll have the Mrs. fully trained to take pics using a supercircuits high power 900 mhz downlink. . Thanks again Jody!

Hi Wray,

I have one of Jody's mounts too and really like it.

I attempted a review of it here, you can search my posts to find it.

I fly an Xcell gasser, you'll love the mount with the gasser. I haven't seen a predator gasser yet, but my Xcell flies well with it and barely seems to notice it when I'm flying a light camera.

My Pro 60 arrived last Friday. Very nice piece of kit! Unfortunately, I've got two gallons to burn in my new Predator Gasser before the mount can go underneath it. That's about seven hours of easy flying to do.

My flying buddy and I are devising a way to get the exhaust of my Raptor 50 further down the boom. Maybe then he'll let me put his nice new digital camera on it.

John,

I had to add a lot of lead to the tail of my R50V2 to get the C/G correct.

After I thought about it, I had the idea of running an exhaust tube down the length of the tail boom. This way I could get the weight to be doing something useful!

If I did this, then I could probably use my R50V2 as a backup camera rig.

Check your C/G and see if your ship is nose heavy too. It may be my digital servos or my NiCad pack. If you are nose heavy, you can easily run a pipe too without upsetting anything.

Consider moving anything with mass to it, to the tail. I find that moving the Rx battery or down link to the tail works well. If you are burning nitro, use a carbon tube, with an inner diameter larger than your exhaust tube and you will never have problems with "spooge" again.

flyboy,

My glow machine is just that, a glow machine, no camera on it.

I've already moved all that I can to get the C/G correct. I must be using heavy digitals or a heavier NiCad than most. Or a lot of people don't bother to check the C/G on a their heli.

I just thought I'd mention that the Raptor 50 can use a little tail weight, so John should have no issue in running a tube down the tail to get rid of the glow residue.
