Anyone happen to know the part number for the 52 tooth reduction gear? My kit came with the 55 but I would like to go ahead and try the 52 as I would like a bit more headspeed. Thanks for any help.

I have heard that there is a Minature rep in the area. You should get with him for help... Just a thought.

A word of caution here Erik. Be mindfull of your motor temps with the smaller gears. Especially as we head into the summer months. Keeping the motor unloaded with the 55 or 54 tooth gears is a really good idea.

Motor Temps

Chris,
What temp range is acceptable for the Hacker to run in. So far not to warm (around 150 to 160). However, the pack is new and I haven't pushed anything all that hard yet. Ran the 52 yesterday and there was a noticeable increase in head speed. Outside temps have only been around the 80's so I imagine as it gets hotter I'll need to be more careful.

We are told to never exceed 180 on the motor, measured at the end of the case. But remember, you can only measure the outside of the motor, the inside will be hotter. Tailoring your setup and style to reduce temps for the hotter months is a really good idea. If you want the higher headspeed, shorten up your flight times a little to compensate. Also remember that the occational auto will go a long way to strip heat from the motor.

Chriss,

Which end should the temp be measured @. I currently measure @ the side and believe this would give higher readings. Could I just take measurements @ the end (motor Leeds).
