JR Heli Vibe - Airskipper - Sylphide - Venture > Voyager 50 runtime is too short

Just tried my first 2 tankfuls of hover, and I find the runtime to be very short. I did not time it accurately, but got about 5-6 minutes only.

This is with an OS50SXH that is new. I have the needle 2 turns out. Im not sure, but it feels like it's running rich (ie. oil all over heli after a run, smokes from half stick onwards).

Is there something I can do to improve on this? Hopefully not something dramatic (expensive)?

Same here... most of those we fly here have header tanks since the fuel is hard to see inside the canopy. We have experienced higher than usual flame-outs compared to other helis because of the thirsty engine coupled with the puny stock fuel tank. There is a K&S upgrade fuel tank which is bigger than the stock tank.

That seems to be the downfall with 50 sized heli's, Once broken in you may get 9 minutes to a tank. My Voyager IMZ with my RV-50 will get 9 to 10 minutes if not in idle up the whole time. In idle up, your looking at around 7.

Voyager 50

Hi All,Seems everyone of us has the same problem. As stated befor K&S do a larger tank and if coupled with a 10 tooth pinion you will get 15 mins. The 50 has power to burn and will pull the higher gearing no problem

Just for your info.

Anyone care to post the part number of the larger tank ? And approximate cost if possible.

Cheers

It's K&S No. 932.

FYI, here's K&S website.

I personaly do not notice a big difference in fuel consumption. Yes there is a difference but I made sure I went to 330cc tank, 2 oz header and a 10T pinion on my Ergo. I get my 10 minutes of flight. By the way the OS 50 is just nuts. I mean the power is amazing i can finally do flips and not lose altitude if I make a mistake. Anyone know if the KSJ 932 tank will fit an Ergo with a KSJ 561 tank mod?

Short run time?

I get 12 to 14 min of flight time with my Voyager 50. I am useing %5 nitro and a large volume muffler(MA412 Zimmerman). Only part of the flight doing airobaticts, no 3D stuff .

I know it has been posted before but where can the 10t pinion be bought?

Also what does it change in RPM , very noticable?
