Kinda looks more like a Dyna-X, flat frames, X-frame braces.

Poll

I think all pod and booms are ugly, I haven't seen one that was appealing the first time I saw it. They just grow on you after awhile.

Go ahead and do a poll and send them the results.
Better yet do a canopy design contest.

With the canopy, and noting a lot of comments that it is "butt ugly" (or something to that effect)- maybe one of the goals is to knock the Caliber 30 off the top of the list of "butt ugly" helis. After all, the Caliber took that singular distinction from the Raptor.

But, the heli, ugly or not, has to perform well, be affordable, be repairable at reasonable cost, and most important of all, it had better reliable. Jason and Todd must not come out with a heli that isn't perfect the first time out -- there are going to be a lot of people who will dump the Synergy faster than a speeding bullet if they do.

Based on a lot of posting history here on RR with regard to the most popular helis on the block (Fury, all other MA product), TT Raptor, Hirobo X-spec and Sceadu EVO, Robbe Millis) ...

...The synergy is going to have to perform flawlessly with just about any aftermarket blade without woof/poof/flutter or tracking troubles, the autorotation stuff had better not fail -- ever (read that as it better not have a one-way bearing), the swashplate and control system must never develop slop, or bind, the tail rotor system must be one that can be assembled using crude approximations for tools and perform 3-D tail control flawlessly, the TR drive and pushrod must be perfect, and failure free. And if anything happens to the heli while it is in the air, they had better be willing to fix it for free, and throw in FedEX overnight shipping to boot.

These poor guys are going to have to meet some very high expectations, or they will be toast in very short order.

Good luck to them both in their endeavor.

A few more details

A few more things...

Todd said it'd have a 12mm main shaft, the blade grips would be plastic, an alumuminum tail boom, and it'd be larger in diameter than the Fury, and I believe they said the main frames would be G-10. Todd also said Synergy will have an easier to build/maintain tail rotor system than the Fury. And as Greg said earlier, they want to raise the engine to reduce the pendulum effect.

They said they'd have all sorts of upgrades for that 'bling-thing'.

Greg, yes, I was in the second class with you. Sorry I didn't see you on Saturday as I had CDs of the class photos I took. PM me with your address and I'll send you a CD.

Back to the Synergy. I'm definately looking forward to it coming out. There have been so many new helicopters with vast improvements in the last 5 years: the Fury Expert, Fury Extreme, Fury Ion-X, the Freya, the Freya X-Spec, the Vigor, the Raptor (all versions), the Sceadu. Time will tell how much it will further raise that bar!!

It’s only a canopy

My God you think that this was the end of the world its only a canopy, if you’re that unhappy with it email JK and let him know that. Other wise lets hear how it flies, that cool tech stuff like how strong the frames are, how well the head performers and tracks, the auto unit, that’s the meet of this heli.

I just got my Fury i aint ready to give it up just yet - JK & TB or not, Nothing has the looks of a Fury (aside from the fact it flies well also)

But admitedly since i first saw the canopy (heave) it has sorta grown on me a tad......

Just remember these boyz are doing what they are doing to make money amongst other things, no dis-respect meant to JK & TB

No offence but I think its more or less of a passion for them to design there very own heli. I know if I had the chance to design a heli, the overall heli would be way more important to me then money. Just my 2 cents
