Can you remove the mechaincs and fly it as a pod and boom?

Personally, I wouldn't try to learn with the scale body on. The chances you'll crash are much higher when you're first learning. I recommend getting a flight simulator like Real Flight or a similar product before attempting to fly by yourself, also try to find someone locally who can help you in person.

I think I'd get another heli to learn on or maybe I'd buy a regular canopy and landing gear for the Jet Ranger mechanics. You could pull the scale body off and fly it like a regular pod and boom type for a while. Later after you learn how to fly you can put the scale body on.

I have a H500E scale heli and at the moment I have the mechanics out of it and have been flying it as a pod and boom while I was rebuilding my other regular 3D machine.

Those scale bodies are fragile and won't survive a crash very well.

Welcome to your new drug. It's very addictive.

Yes you will be able to. But it's going to cost you tons of money.
Guarantee you will crash in the first few seconds.
Get the HAWK, use this for training, in the future you can use this for another scale.
