| smoothness!!I have a working Bambi bucket and it requires a real feel for it!! I've tried several diferent lengths of line. Mostly in a scale length from 15' to 100' ( 8" to about 8' respectively. ) The only way you can do it is by trying it. The water and bucket combo weigh in at 2.5 lbs, and there is a big pendulem effect and it is at a different rate with a different length of line. I like useing the short line cause then i can dip out of a 10 gal tub i made that if i ever had too, I could land right next to it and not hit the blades. the pendulem effect is at a faster rate and wont "pull" the heli around but it does not look scale swinging at that rate. The longer lines look more scale but the swings tend to "pull" the heli longer in any given swing direction but looks more scale. Plus, you cant see that same 10 gal tub at the same time as you are looking at the heli making it very difficult to dip out of your given target. For example, with the short line, if you are really good, you could dip out of a regular 5 gal bucket. Though i wouldnt recomend it!!! With the longer line, you need to be futher back from the heli to be able to see both the heli and the target you are trying to dip out of in the same field of view. meaning watching the heli as you fly it and trying to use your purifrial vision ( Spelling) to put the bambi bucket into the small, and I do mean small water source. Unless you use a BIGGER water source like a pool or an actual lake like i do once in a while. Its the most challenging thing I have ever done while flying!! Now that I actually got the water into the bucket wiht out eather crashing, or dumping the heli into the water, NOW I have to try to dump the water on the the imaginary wild fire, ( garbage can in the parking lot!! ) It is a challenge and I encourage any one to try it. Just fly very smooth wiht no sidden movement so as not to get the bucket entangled cause you know what would happen!!!
