| The one thing to look out for, is how well the camera "transitions" from light to dark.
Some of the very cheap cameras out there, are horrible at this, and their price reflects that. Such cameras can be found on E-bay for a few bucks. Their video quality is horrible as well. It really comes down to what you are looking for I guess :-)
I am using a Panasonic Camera, and I have to say, it is quite good at transitions. I had payed close to 100.00 about 2 years ago for it, but am very happy with it.
As you mention, it does require 12V, but that is not a problem. You can get a voltage inverter for 10 bucks, that will take the 4.6V of a receiver battery, and safely up it to 12V for use with the camera. This works quite well, and I have never had a problem with the camera or the inverter. |
