I bought a Phoenix 10 ESC which is attached to Himax 4100 motor inside a Hornet Heli. I programmed it numerouse times according to the manual and when I give throttle, It spools up very slowly and never picks up any speed. The motor is barely turning. I am using a 11.1 amp 3 cell lithium battery pack and a Cirrus Receiver with it. Am I doing something wrong or is it a bad ESC?

Use fixed throttle type and setup your radio to get the full throttle range.
Does the red light on the ESC come on at full throttle? It should. What are all your ESC settings. I also use Soft Start - fast start setting.

Thanks Gary.

I figured it out...I was not powering my ESc through the ESC. I was connecting the batt to the reciever which was limiting the current.

You connected the Battery directy to your receiver and nothing got fried? Wow!!.. I would think that it would smoke the Reciever and anything else connected.

Anyhow Gary,

ESC's Emit alot of electrical noise and should be located as far from any other Electronic devices.

Eric

lol....no nothing fried.

but if you look at any reciever, it always has a connecter for the battery. Thats how I have my raptor and fury are powered. The battery is attached to an on/off switch and that is plugged into the reciever. Only differnece is a reciever battery is 4.8 volts and the and lithiums are 11.1v.
