I just purchased a PowerfLite setup for my CS. 2400 mah lithium ion pack along with a 4.8-volt regulator and their recommended 1 amp load tester. Also included was a 3-outlet charger. I have had Duralites in the past, which had outstanding performance. I left a switch on a killed my Duralite pack so it left me looking for a new power source. I decided to go with an Expert 2700 NiMh pack at first but discovered the pack was bad. This is the second Expert 2700 pack I have owned that had issues. I have purchased 4 and 2 of the 4 were bad.

I got tired of looking for high performance without lugging Sub C's around. Why spend the money for a carbon fiber heli and then weight it down with electronics. The 2400 PowerfLite pack in just a hair over 4 ounces. They are protected in case a switch is left on not to damage them selves. The 2400 pack can deliver 6 amps of punch, more than enough for any R/C application. I have not had a chance to fly the heli yet due to the rain we are getting but my hopes are high. The charger can recharge the pack in one hour after the first 2-hour initial charge. I'll post more on the performance once the weather clears up.

rickc,

I also fly a CS and I've been using NiCads. I would like to extend the number of flights I get per charge while keeping the weight down. Powerflite packs seem like a good investment. Where may I get in touch with a distributor for Powerflite packs for additional information?

Thanks,
Tim

I'm interested, too~!
Please tell us where you got the battery or how to order it.
I have been using Ni-cd batt. for a while, but I have to charge my batt. every two flights. When I go flying, I wish I wouldn't have to worry about it.

Horizon Hobbies is carrying the pack. I ordered mine via the LHS though them. So far I am very impressed with the pack.

If you are doing that because the voltage is down to the point where it NEEDS a re-charge, then that pack is going bad.

Unless, of course, you're running five digital servos and a governor off of a 500mAh pack...

Rick, I read Oddino's piece on the lithium-ion batteries. They are definitely interesting. Keep us posted on what you find as you use them.

When you talked to the PowerfLite guys(Skyborn Electronics), did they mention what happened to their Clip On Cockpit telemetry system they showed last year?
