How long can the 3300 nickel metal packs (the packs from Airfoil) sit fully charged before you can notice a drop in power and capacity?

cheers,

Compared to other chemistry, NIMH self discharges very quickly. You can figure on about 10% the first 24 hours, and then 2 or 3 % per day after that.

Well, that may explain my lack of power/duration on a pack this morning.

I was out shooting this morning at 6am and the first pack that was sitting about 5 days was just not there....

Always be sure to charge your packs the night before you fly. They will self discharge over time as already mentioned!

I hope you keep this rule for your transmitter and receiver NiCad or NiMH packs (LiPO's are not subject to this same issue).

I also use a field peak charger to peak my batteries before the first flight of a day.

I also have an on board battery monitor to keep an eye on my battery status.

This can be a safety issue. Especially if you are flying for video/potography.
