| AnswersBefore I answer your questions, let me suggest you do one of two things... First would be to find a local heli pilot who can help you. I can not stress how helpful it is to have somone who knows what they are doing get you going. If you can not find anyone to help you, then my second suggestion is for you to buy "Rays Complete Helicopter Manual". This book will guide you step, by step and will be a huge help to you.
Now to your questions... Since you are a brand new pilot, we are not going to talk about 3D setups (no 3/4 stick hovering). For you, the low pitch setting should be 0 degrees. The middle stick position should have a pitch of 5 degrees. And the high stick should be 10 degrees.
Thy gyro is ok in the front or in the back. However, you do not want it on top of the receiver. This will cause the gyro to "wiggle" and you will get some feedback into the gyro/yaw. Also, that wiggle will probbably cause the gryo to break loose in flight. Then you will be in big trouble. I think you should just spend the $3 for a servo extention and mount the gyro in the back on the gyro platform.
YOU MUST BALANCE THE ROTOR BLADES!!! The cheap wood blades that come with the kit need to be balanced. If you do not balance them you can expect all kinds of shakes and vibrations. This is very bad since they will cause things to wear out and break.
When you move the pitch stick, you notice the rudder moves... That is because you have Revoulition Mixing (REVO) turned on. Depending on the type of gyro you have, you may or may not want this turned on. Since you do not state what kind of gyro you have, I can not give you a reccomendattion. However, if your rudder linkage is binding when you move the stick all the way up, you will want to lower the revo mix or turn it off. No matter what, you dont want your linkage binding.
I hope this helps.
PS - Why the hell did you buy a Nexus??? |
