Miniature Aircraft Nitro/Gas Helicopters > CCPM - dialing out interaction

My new Fury extreme flew yesterday with OS 90 and the new G6000T.

Wow.

Only flew three tanks hovering and scooting about low level and it very solid and feels lighter in comparison to my heavy old Milly! The OS with the zimmerman is very quiet, the quietest heli I've owned, and the tail is rock solid with the G6000T.

Anyway, Say I have some swashplate interaction, how would I notice this in flight and what and how do I have to adjust in my 10X? I'm presuming you have to change the percentages of control in code 65 ccpm/swash mix? Or do you have to actually change the ATV's for each channel in function 12 travel adjust.

My flybar paddles dont move at all when I raise and lower the collective.

I'm thinking I have very little or no interaction, but I'd like to know what to look for and how to fix it.

Best,
Will

If your using JR digital servos you should have no interaction. I found mine to be matched so close that I cannot see or feel any interaction at all. I did have some on my 537's in my Ergo 30SS, as the swashplate topped out or bottomed out of the stroke I would see one servo or two travel just a bit farther. This was most noticeable on inverted climb outs for me. I used the travel adjustment for each servo to sync them up at the top and bottom. The heli then flew like a whole different machine. Climb outs are straight and true. You can probably use a mix to do the same thing. I see David H says not to use the ATV or Travel adj. in our case and I'm sure he has good reasoning for his answer but it has worked for me. We do not a pmix program but we have the ability to create whatever mix is needed. I'm sure you will get a handle on the situation.

Will,

Did you try the paddles with the flybar oriented longways and side-to-side?

The rear lower swashplate link is much shorter than the other two. At the ends of the collective range you will see that it's at a greater angle to vertical than the front two links. This will cause some collective to fore/aft interaction. If you put bubble levels on the swash and move it through the collective range you'll see interaction.

On vertical climb-outs you'll see the model pull back a bit.

A curve mix would be the most precise way to mix this out, since the interaction is probably some trig function of servo angle. However the problem is basically reduced travel at the rear of the swash, and is isolated to one servo. Increasing the travel of that servo will apply a linear correction, instead of a curve, but for small angles that will be pretty close.

thanks guys,

I'll check and see if I have any real interaction issues when I fly next time, I was just interested to learn a bit about interaction and remedies as this is my first CCPM heli.

I needed only 2% or so mix on pitch to aileron. This made a huge difference. It removed the tendency to roll during tumbles and only took a few minutes to set using a swash plate level.

Cheers,
Ken

OK so I put the pitch guage on my flybar paddles and it does seem I have a very small amountof interaction right at full positive pitch......the swash wants to tilt backwards ( back elevator ).

David, whats thebest way to sort it out mechanically, all my arms are on the servo's at 90* to the best of my knowledge. What linkages should I adjust if any?

Can onyone explain how to setup the pmixes on a 10X as my instructions for it are in japanese.

If i try using the pmix menu's it comes up as INH and wont change, possibly becuase I'm using CCPM? work an all my other models.

Give me the idiots guide to doing it.
