Greetings Folks..just bought a JR Venture CP. Been into nitro cars and Tmaxxs for a few years now, but new to flight. Anywayz.. I am learning to fly this thing and just yesterday I had the chopper about 7 feet or so off the ground and landed..kinda hard..hard enough to break my training gear on one side..didnt notice it at the time..took back off and landed leaning to the right thinking that my training gear would save my hellish landing and BAM..blades broke..so now my question is - is there anything on the chopper to check before installing new blades? What should I look for before taking it back up? Also please feel free to give me any pointers on learning to fly this thing...thanks..Teezy

Crash..

Check the main shaft and the spindle shaft.Odds are good that they are bent.I've had a few what i thought were minor mishaps, every time these shafts get bent.To be sure remove and roll on a piece of glass.
Just my 2 cents.....

Tips

Teezy,
What ToyMan told you was correct. Inspect those two shafts. I assume that you balanced the blades that came with the kit right? If not, you need to balance your new blades. If you don't know how then pick up a copy or Ray's Authoritative Heli Manual from your LHS or one of the online stores.

Also, check that the tail shaft & tail hub didn't get bent.

Crashing is NOT a requirement or "paying your dues" to learn to fly RC helis. Try to read this sight for some flight training tips. I agree with his approach:

I have the Venture 30 also and it is a VERY nice little machine. Just be careful and keep it < 3ft until you have hovering down. Going to high when you aren't ready can cause problems.

Do you have experience help? If not try this to find some:

How the heck did you get $1,200.00 into your Venture?

Hummm...

I think he meant $1200 for the entire setup. (ie radio, engine, pipe, access....)

At least I hope he did!!
