I finally got my Gy401 and the futaba9253 servo
I had a pretty fast Hitech servo on the rudder already , an HS-925MG
All the rest of my servos are pretty much the bottom of the line JR servos. Its the way I got it.
Which position would get the most benefit from this Hitech servo?
collective , either one of the cyclids, or the throttle?
seems a waste not to use it.
I know some of yall don't like hitechs
All input welcome though

Throttle...

I have the same HS-925MG you do and I put it on the throttle. (Did you happen to buy it as a combo with a Telebee 701 gyro and decided not to use the gyro and upgrade to the 401? If so that would be too weird.)

The reason is that the throttle servo should be faster than the collective servo (and cyclic servo if you use cyclic-to-throttle mixing) so that the throttle can preceed the collective when changes are made. This way the engine isn't always playing catchup with big collective changes because the throttle opens or closes before the collective pitch change loads or unloads the engine.

A second reason for my decision is that my heli is CCPM and needed matched servos (9252's) on the swash and the Hitech was the best servo I had remaining in my servo box.

Put it on the collective, it would be wasted on the throttle. I run the same servo on the collective of my R30 & R60, it works great.
