| After searching through a pitch problem I have discovered another problem with the L-10. Seems the thrust bearings are notched, the inner most on one grip and the outer on the other. After looking at these I decided to check the metal hardness. With a sharp awl I was able to make an impression in one of the bad thrust bearing races using moderate hand pressure . I was unable to make any kind of indentation in a good one (one that showed no damage). Sounds like the hardness on these races is sub-par. I have been running approximately 1900 rpm on the head and have about 8 flights doing mild 3D. No crashes and the head was assembled per spec. Could something else have caused this? I don't have a hardness tester but I also tryed the awl on a set of Miniature thrust bearings, could not even scratch them?
