I have been trying to tune my new Logo 10 for 3D flight. I was really puzzled that I could not get sufficient positive pitch for the heli to perform well. After several attempts to correct this I found that adjusting the head to give suitable positive pitch resulted in not near enough negative. While looking over things today I realized the blades where actually posistioned at a negative pitch when the blade roots were zeroed. To further prove this, I chucked them in a vice and leveled everyrhing horizontally. I then put a pitch guage on the blade, the readings were as follows:
Blade #1 -5 degrees
Blade #2 -3 degrees

These are the Mikado 500mm fiberglass blades that came with my 3D kit. They only have about 7-8 flightd on them. In addition I also found 2 pin holes in the leading edge of one blade, when I applied slight finger pressure the pin hole opened up to about 2 mm in diameter. These must have been voids in the glass. Anyway, just a heads up to anyone having problems with these Mikado blades. I talked with Len Sabato and have a new set of NHP's on the way.

Well, that is @#$%

There are similar reports of quality on these blades around, but not the pitch problem/inconsistency.

I think Mikado needs to change suppliers quick, and shame on them for accepting this junk.

PS: I just ordered SABs from CyberHeli. Of course they turned out not to be in stock, and of course they are just about to get there.

Too much fun.

The only other blades I have had similar trouble with were wood and the cost only $30.00. I would expect higher QA from Mikado. Anyway the heli is a very capable machine I hope the new blades will do the trick.

That is why you ALWAYS check the pitch on the blade itself. Never trust the blade grips to accurately indicate the pitch no matter what blades you are using.

I too was a bit disappointed in the quality of the Mikado FG blades. Even the packaging leaves a lot to be desired. That being said, the proof is in the flying; and that they do very well!

Let us know how the NHP and SAB blades turn out. It seems that every time someone does a blade test/comparison, they always come back to the Mikado blades as the best.
