Mine has been sitting on my bench for a while

Ive been busy with work and just flying the R60 in my extra time.
Ive got a TT36 put into mine already. Ive taken some metal rod
stock from home depot and filled the landing gear between the trusses with JB weld and inserted the cut lengths of rod into it before it dried.
The gear is really stiff now and not much heavier.

I did the tail by drilling holes and using long machine screws to fasten it to the tail housing. Looks good but I need to make a hook for the bottom to protect the tail blades. The full scale has this so it wont look out of place.

I really havent done all that much more to it than that. I mounted the frame to the floor with machine screws and birch blocks. Ive got to get to home depot to get some more materials. I plan on not having the cockpit installed and just making some brackets that I will JB weld to the inside of the body that have nuts welded to them. That way I can put the nose on with 4-6 screws and not have to wory when I need to do maint. to it. I

I think I will try to find some 550 carbon semis for it to give it more lift.
They will also look more scale than woodies or white blades.

Then the expensive part. Servos and receiver!

Im sure it will be heavy but I will give it a shot anyway. And Yes, make sure to clear coat the thing with flat fuel proof coat otherwise the paint will come off.(Tip from Fritz)

The blue isn't mine either. My pictures are black, and red and white. I painted the black with 21st Century Coverite paint. It is fuelproof, but I would not reccomend it. It is designed to paint balsa, and is largely dependant on a surface to soak into. It took many many coats to get coverage. As I recall that hard drive was just to illustrate the size of the fuse by showing something a common size. There is plenty of room within the fuse, but a few key points seemed to interfere all the time. There isn't much room for a muffler, and the tail boom is hard to get lined up without hitting the pitch lever on a Non CCPM ship.

The fuel didn't seem to hurt the plastic fuse. I didn't fly it much though. I can't say long term. It was too much of a dog. I sold it to someone who wanted to play with it, and moved on.

Thanks, John Cadwell

So who made the Blue one???? I have a old Hirobo Shuttle siting in my ware house. I was thinking to use this into the toy heli with a Enya 35 and some 515 NHP blades. I read that is heavy for a 35 size engine. But my question is Do it Fly??? How good or bad it fly???

I just one to have a nice very good loocking Heli to show of but at list I want to fly it.

AH-6 Little Bird web site

Hi guys~!

My girlfriend just found this website for me. It's about the AH-6 Little Bird modification. Go and check it out -> CLICK HERE . There are links to two video clips of AH-6 Little Bird on that site. The first video link is broken, and that is the link to the same short video clip that I had. So CLICK HERE (right click on your mouse, go to 'Save Target As', and click on 'Save') for the fixed link to the video clip. (hope the owners of both sites won't mind me linking to their sites )

I wish I had AH-6 Little Bird. They do not have it any more at the local ToysRUs stores. They are all gone! Should've bought it when I had the chance!!

Best regards,

Alex

I Just posted this info on another thread about these helis, but here goes. I purchased a Little Bird with pilot from the local Toys-R-Us for $39 and a Fire Dept Heli with pilot for $39. They were displays. My wife and I stop at every Toys-R-Us and check for displays. By the way, K-Bee stores also sell these helis as I bought another Little Bird with pilot for $50 from the K-Bee store in the local mall. This store also has a Police Heli new in box, so keep looking if you really want one. They are getting harder to find but still out there. When they first came out my wife bought me ALL FOUR 21st Century helis.
By the way Helicool, I grew up in the North Bay Shore area and graduated from Brentwood High School. My family now lives in Lindenhurst. Where do you fly?

Mopzilla: I haven't done so yet, but I will eventually put the Fire Dept/Rescue fuselage on a Raptor 30. Right now I am TRYING to finish a 60 size TwinStar (Schluter fuselage) and a Huey (Century) that my wife picked up for me on Ebay for a great deal. As you can see, I am crazy about helicopters. I flew in Hueys and OH-58's (Military Jet Rangers) in 1975-76. (OOPS, I'm giving away my age). Got a joy ride in a Blackhawk during Desert Storm. Hmm, I'm going to have to get one of those too.

Helicool: I went out to the field in Coram about three months ago while on LI but no one was there. I've heard about Kings Park, but never been to the site. There used to be a field on 110 just south of the L.I.E. but it is office buildings now. LI is just too damn crowded for me now. Hopefully we can meet some day. I go to LI about twice a year to see my family.

LI is getting more hectic every day it seems.

We are usually out there on weekends weather permitting.
We have about 75 paid members now. Next time you get up this way drop me a line and we can get together. I too havent had much time to work on the AH-6. Its been sitting on my bench for a while now.

Ive been thinking about getting a private heli license. Seems it doesnt take much to get that far but I would like to instruct or fly commercial.
That is a test of patience I hear.
