This is one from a series of pics that I took for fun. I got another one in the serie published in a Swedish magazine about digital photografing ("Digitalfoto för alla" #5). Even got a 128Mb xD card in reward

Thanks guys!

I took the picture late in the evening, hence the long shadows.

These windmills are some of the most interesting pics I've seen on these Tasks. I didn't realize the commercial mills were that big!

Awesome Shot Ethan!!

Its odd, we get lots of wind here in NL, too much to fly some times... but no wind mills.

I am looking for something similar for this task....

Dean

I cant BELIEVE how doggone HUGE these suckers are! When you are next to them your sense of scale is thrown totally out of wack. I've seen the windmills many times but to stand next to them you are "blown away" by the size.

No wonder they cost 1.7 million a piece ! (that's what I heard)

I took this pic for a sense of scale. I walked back just far enough to get the whole windmill in the shot, my car and wife are standing halfway between me and the windmill.

I believe that windmills like this would be impossible without government subsidy here. The cost is prohibitive otherwise. The goal is for gov. to help fund these things until there are enough of them around to bring the cost down.

It takes 22 semi-loads just to haul the crane needed to put one of these up
