If anyone has the same equipment

Hacker c40-8l
Hacker 40-3p controller
using 10 cell battery packs
using stock blades

could you give me throttle and curve 5 point settings (let me know what pitch is at mid stick - 50% for reference)

Thanks.

I have read somewhere that my cut out problem (in another post) maybe related to this.

Rodney,

I can give you my throttle curve settings really easy:
Normal Mode = 0, 25%, 95%, 95%, 95%
Idle Up 1 & 2 = 95%, 95%, 95%, 95%, 95%
(For reference, these are used with a TP 3s4p 8200mah battery)

I can't help with the percentages in the pitch values because I use a different head (Quick 15) so the values are totally different. I can tell you what degree I'm looking for at various stick positions. I use 0 degrees at mid stick in all three modes and an upper value of 12 degrees in all three. The low stick figures are a different in each mode:
Normal Mode at Low Stick = -3 degrees
Idle Up 1 at Low Stick = -5 degrees
Idle Up 2 at Low Stick = -12
Thr Hold is set for Maximum Pitch (without binding) + for High Stick and - for Low stick.

With these settings my VE is capable of most manuvers and will fly from 20 - 30 minutes on a charge. The key to good power and efficiency in an electric motor is generally to get the rpm up and use the
motor in it's most efficient power band and keep it there. Thats why I use the 95% setting in all my stick positions that equate to flight and only allow the motor to spool down after landing. I typically use Normal to spool up then switch to either Idle Up 1 or 2 for flight.

So, at midstick, you have zero degrees of pitch.

I was under the impression that midstick is where you need to be when hovering. And to hover, I thought the VE took close to 8 degrees of pitch.

Am i missing something here?

thanks.

On hovering, there are two schools of thought. The first is the traditional "midstick hover" where your pitch and power are set to attain a hover at the mid point of the collectives travel. The other technique is to set your hover point at approx 3/4 stick with midstick being zero pitch. The advantage to this is most apparent when you start doing acro. Midstick is now always zero pitch and there is no "hunting" for it.

As I said in the earlier post, I don't have the same set-up as you. I have the Quick 15 head on my VE and longer (475mm) blades. This accounts for the differences in the pitch value at the hover point. Mine is setup for something in between the two techniques, I don't hover at half stick and I'm already airborne at less than the 3/4 point. The values I gave you are starting points only.

On the hovering pitch value, with the stock motor, the pitch needed to hover is greater than with the C40-8L...reason?....extra headspeed with the brushless. More headspeed = Less pitch for the same result (most of the time !!

Hope that makes some sense,

Ralph W.
