What's the difference between the Hatori SB-14 and SB-15 muffler for the YS 80 engines. Your help is appreciated.

difference

The difference is the location of the input to the expansion chamber. I believe the SB15 has the inlet closer to the front of the muffler and hangs further back on the model.

I think Gordie is indeed correct about the SB15 having the inlet closer to the front. Doing so creates a muffler that will fit a Fury without the need for trimming the canopy and also gives MA the ability to supply the same muffler for the Pro and Fury models.

The SB15 is distributed only in the US via Sabin (i.e. don't bother trying Cyberheli, etc) and exists only as a two piece unit. Mr. Hatori was concerned with the chances for stress cracking by having a one piece muffler with the inlet so far forward.
