Hi,
I just ordered a Maxi-Joker for use as a camera ship. I want to know which camera you recomend for video and still photography that can be controled from the ground (zoom, start-stop, still photos) and will provide very-good video qulity and good still photos. Also what equipment is neaded to control the camera from the ground and where to get it. The camera mast be light sins this is an electric heli.

Hi Eran,

As nobody has responded to your info request, here are my thoughts regarding cameras.

If you intend to film commecially then you will probably need two cameras as you will not get good enough quality still pictures from a camcorder.

If you are concerned with weight then it sounds like a single chip MiniDV camcorder will work for you as they are normally not too heavy.
Sony Camcorders are well made and tough but many other makes are suitable for your purpose.

I don't do still pictures (yet) but some good results have been posted on this site using a Sony DSCV1 camera. This has a remote that can be modified to operate the camera using R/C.

Have a look at some camera forums as there are new cameras coming out all the time.

Hope this helps to get you started or at least stimulate some discussion.

Eran, I should also have mentioned that this forum has a lot of information that will be useful to you. You will find home made and manufactured remote camera controls in with all the other stuff. Take some time and page through and/or search and I am sure you will find something that will work for you.
