Just got notified that part number 0412-240 is the electric conversion kit for Evo! Recommended motor is Hacker B50 23XL and 48A Opto ESC. Optimized for two 12 cell NIMH packs.
Anyone know where to get it?

Might want to make a reservation on the QE II to England... then hop Virgin Airlines to Tokyo... and then grab a three wheeled skooter to Hirobo headquarters.... Bring lots of Yen...

Plan B: Wait until the boat arrives in NJ...

$0.02

I was at my local hoby shop two weeks ago and he showed me a flyer from MRC showing and giving him info on the electric EVO. Maybe I can ask him to see it again and find release dates ...

Here's some info I got via email yesterday from gregb@modelrectifier.com about the Electric EVO conversion kit. Looks like the MSRP is $300.00.

Couple things..

I have been coresponding with Jeff G about the conversion.
When the kits hit his desk he is going to call me. I trust him with this as he has never not done what he said.

The guys at Hacker USA say that motor is bunk. Now the guys in Europe may have something on that, but using the gear ratio and info I have now they said it is too many turns.

My advice to anyone wanting the conversion (yeah just a couple people ) wait this one out till Jeff gets the kits in the US.

I would recommend the same for anyone overseas.
So far there is a ton of hype, but not much nuts and bolts so to speak.

The part number has been out since Nuremburg, but not kits as of yet.
My suspicion is that they are re-thinking the clutch idea.
At least I hope so.

Hi,

I love my Sceadu, so don't get me wrong, but I doubt this conversion makes any sense.

The Sceadu is a quite heavy machine and the pics of the conversion show that it is using the clutch and clutchbell of the glow Evo - that would be one heavy machine.

Best would be to keep Evo head and tail but bring a new simple G10 chassis.

Probably not because this has not been released yet. At least not in the US.
