Miniature Aircraft Nitro/Gas Helicopters > First flights on my new Fury.

Well, flew the Fury for the first time yesterday, it flies real nice. I always liked those white paddles and TG blades. Every time I fly a MA chopper, I always do slow flybys and am amazed at how stable they are, and autos are nice also.

Get on Soap box:

But I must say, what the heck is the big deal about the Fury? I mean it is a nice heli, and flies great, but it is not all that. I mean, if I were to put a split gear and 20gm paddles on my aging custom I do not think that I could tell much of a difference in flight and the custom weights about the same. Now my X-cell CT is a bit heavier, but not much and it DOES fly every bit as good as the Fury (heck the mechanics are virtually identical) and maybe a little better because I am used to it.

In closing, i'll keep the Fury, I like it, but I do not think that it is God's gift to helis.

Now all I have to do is get rid of this damn tail wag and it will be perfect. (probabally engine related or some friction in the pushrod)

I don't think its that they fly sooo much better than everything else, instead it's the cost to performance factor. People like getting the same peformance out of a $650 Fury vs. a $900 mille2, $1100 Vigor Cs, or $1100 Xcell SE.
