Engines Plugs Mufflers Fuel > Fan balance with GV1 magnet

I am getting ready to mount the magnet for the GV1 in a Fury aluminum fan, and I am wondering if adding the magnet increases or decreases weight. I am going to balance the fan and would like to put the magnet in a location that will help the balance and not make it worse. Do you know if it adds or subtracts to the weight, or if it makes any difference? Thanks!

I thought about this a little when I mounted mine. Remember you remove material from the fan and then replace material with a magnet.

Also, if the hole is already there (like my Sceadu). You could imagine it is already out of balance and this fixes it by plugging the hole.

In answer to your question... I have no idea, but the above is what I concluded.

I made a small wodden jig, to put the fan in. Kenman showed me this idea. I then drilled one hole and being that a JR fan has a even number of teeth I then rotated the fan 180 degrees and drilled the second hole. This puts the magnets directly across from each other in the same location of the fan. Little balancing was needed when I was done.
