Don't forget to check your upper J bolt on preflight...Found mine broken this morning and it's a long shanked one to boot! It's the 30/50 unit. It's been in and out of there so many times, I have probably over tightened it a few times also..

head bolt

FWIW there's no advantage to overtightening this bolt. It basically acts as a dowel pin, and anything tightener than what's needed to keep it from falling out is wasted effort. It takes a pretty good beating when you crash, too, and is best replaced if you have an accident. Steve.

Yeah, I know. This raptor is almost 2 yrs old and has taken a beating. I since haven't torqued either of the J bolts other than snugging up...Live and learn I guess. That's what this forum is about!!
