How much weight could a Raptor 50, for example, carry?
What about other helis?

I am lifting 3 lb with a Shuttle RG and OS32. It is a little heavy but it works. I would think a 50 size would have no problem but they do handle different with the added weight. Just take it slow and it will do fine.

I would guess a Raptor 50 would lift 3-4 lbs with a healthy engine.
An auto might be a little hot though if you have no wind to cheat with.

I second that, do some experimenting with attached wieghts.

Personally I have an Xcell gasser w/ G23 gas motor and 710mm blades that carries 6-7 lbs quite easily. (Except when its 95 degrees with 100% humidity then its at it's safety limit)

I would agree with Jeff (it's a guess) on the Rappy 50. I was thinking about 3 lbs safely in stock form.

I use a 91 and it carries 7lb OK.

Thanks guys for your info. I wont be doing any photoing yet ( not even flying yet)

but i just wanted to know what i could do when i want to.
When ever i tell people about the heli they always ask " how much wieght can it carry" so i say "i would gess about a pound"
But now i know for sure. i will strap a Diving weight to it and see how it handles.

The heli weighs 12.5 lbs so it is picking up @ 8.5 lbs

My Raptor 50 is only 6.4 pounds.

But it said (your web site) that you have a Weed Eater engine in it so i guess they weigh more then glow engines. Your heli is also bigger.

I Carry in my freya 90 with O.S 91 sx-h. With TG asimetrical blades 700mm 4 kilograms.
And I tests 5 kilogranms too.

Just built me another R50 to use as a camera ship, I installed the R30 gearing to make it easier on the engine. I think I'll try 1700 RPM and go from there. I have already lifted 3lbs with my other R50, both use OS50s. 3lbs takes more collective and a ya have to up the gyro sensitivity.

Just waitin on my C30 mount to get here!
