Anybody know where the orange/yellow coloured padded skid covers that are used on the Airfoil and others camera mounts come from?
Is this material used for a different purpose in industry?
It looks like water pipe lagging but I bet it's really good for visibility at high altitudes.

Thanks,

Paul.

Try kid's swimming pool floats, called Noodles. Lots of colors!

I have yellow ones!

I have yellow ones!!

My canopy is yellow, so I got a tube of yellow at Toy's R Us for like $2.95. It's like 4 feet long.

maybe walmart will have them also.

cheers,
Dean

To really help with orientation, I use a different color on each skid.

Try yellow or green and pink, it is so obnoxious that you can see them for miles!

I even strap a little one on the vertical tail fin for those really hard-to-see days.

Having some of that tubing on the tail fin is a good idea!!

I have 102mm blades on my Voyager 50 E, and they are a little long for that vert fin. If the vert fins touches the ground at all the blades will for sure.

maybe putting on some of that form would work to give me a little more height on the vert fin.

cheers,
Dean

Greg

Are your noodles pre cut or do you have to slot them etc along the centre??

If so whats the best way to cut them.

Just the ones I've seen locally are solid.

Cheers

Lee:

I get the hollow ones, so I just slice them vertically between the skids and leave as much as I can in the front and back 'unsliced' to fit them on.

Dean:

The 102mm tail blades seem long? Try 130mm sometime...
