I purchased a new Blade CP Pro and extras. Then acquired a 3rd hand Trex 450x soon after.

The flight sim was nice but I wanted to start flying. The CX is/was a stepping stone. The first night I got it, unboxed, charged and flying in the living room. The cat thought it was interesting.
Grass can be an issue for the tail rotor, especially when learning to fly and or with a small electric. Although the CX has no tail rotor, my CP and future Trex will so tried a tarp for a landing pad.
A local high school gym is available to some local electric flying and was able to get some in one night. These shots include some of my first forward and in general flying. And the pictures were taken with one hand while hovering with the other!
I modified the CX and installed two of the EFlite heat-sinks. |

Mid-August of 2006, I first hovered my Raptor 50. First out at the local heli field for my first flights. Then the next day, in the back yard with a new larger piece of carpet for a landing pad in the grass.
A few more shots out at the local heli field in San Antonio, Texas.

Main hobby is model railroading. I model in Gn3 / 1/22.5" scale indoors (just like small scale guys). I like Colorado narrow gauge railroads and go there often. Also have "riding scale" equipment. Most "live steam" trains are 1.5" scale, my engine is 4" scale, big enough for me to ride inside.
